Sailing in Barcelona

We have just opened a sailing base in Barcelona — now trainings and races take place in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, in one of the most sailing-oriented cities in Europe.

Join a community that lives by the wind!

What boats do we sail?

For training in Barcelona we use J/70 and Laser racing sailboats.

J/70 is a modern keelboat designed for a crew of 3–4 people. Fast, maneuverable, stable and safe. It is ideal for team training, sparring sessions and participation in regattas.

Laser is a single-handed Olympic class dinghy. It is perfect for individual training, helping sailors develop technique, balance and sensitivity to the wind.

This format allows participants to train both as a team and individually, depending on their goals and level of experience.

Training and Practice in Barcelona

We organize regular training sessions and sailing practice on the water. The formats are adapted to the participants’ level.

• Regular Training — 2.5 hours of practice on the water with a professional instructor. Includes:

– practicing maneuvers and sail handling

– start procedures and tacks/gybes

– a short theoretical debrief after the session

• Beginner Training — first introduction to the boat, basic maneuvers and sailing fundamentals.

• Sparring Session — training between two experienced crews.

• Beginner Course on J/70 — a structured sailing course from zero including theory and homework assignments. Course duration: 4 days.

• Individual Laser Training — focused work on sailing technique and speed.

In the future we will also organize inshore races.

What else can you learn from us?

In Barcelona, we also prepare future skippers for the IYT international license.

The main program is the Stage 1 Captain's Course.

This is the first step toward an international skipper's certificate, where you will master the fundamentals of sailing yacht handling: sail management, basic navigation, right-of-way rules, safety, and radio communications.

The course is suitable for both beginners and those with experience who want to systematize their knowledge and move on to seafaring practice and training for the IYT Bareboat Skipper Sail license.

Training sessions are suitable for everyone. No special sports background is required.

You can actively participate in maneuvers and races, or start in a more relaxed format and gradually immerse yourself in sailing practice.

At our Barcelona base we are not only building a training program but also creating a community of passionate sailors. Here people find crews for regular training, partners for racing and friends who share a love for sailing.

It’s a place where a passion for the sea and sport brings people together — and new connections often grow into long-term participation in the life of the club.
